Regional Universities Centre Advisory Committee

Taree Universities Campus is a Regional University Centre (RUC) and accordingly is part of the Regional University Centres Network

Regional University Centres support students in rural, regional and remote Australia to access, participate and succeed in tertiary education without having to leave their communities.

The RUC Network is guided by the RUC Network Advisory Committee and aims to provide support to RUC staff across Australia,  fostering collaboration through a community of practice.

At the most recent National Conference for Rural Regional and Remote Education,  Taree Universities Campus CEO , Donna Ballard was elected to the Advisory Committee as the NSW representative.

Donna says, “The growth of the RUC Network is very encouraging. A further eight centres have been funded in the 2022 year , bringing the total number of centres across Australia to 32 , with ten now based in NSW.

This expansion reiterates the importance of equitable access to education as a priority for those living and working in regional areas, and facilitates economic development opportunities in communities similar to ours. I look forward to raising local and state wide concerns to the Network for informing and actioning future strategies”.

The activity of the RUC Network is informed by the needs of RUC staff and funded by the Australian Government Department of Education (DoE).
