About us

Paton Hooke Lawyers, a well known law firm serving Taree and beyond for over a century, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing administrative support to our solicitors.

Qualifications & experience

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant (2+ years preferred).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Enthusiasm, attention to detail and pride in work quality.

  • Professional presentation and a team-player mentality.

  • A working knowledge of LEAP legal software is beneficial, but not required.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers and administrative staff.

  • Assist in the preparation of court documents and general correspondence.

  • Transcription of digital dictation.

  • Efficient file management and monthly invoicing.

  • Coordination of appointments, conferences and mediations.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, employees, Counsel and other stakeholders.

  • Support the Legal team in optimising internal systems for information processing.
